Exhibitors See High Demand for Glass Lifts and Railing Systems at GlassBuild 2024

GlassBuild America is officially over. The trade show concluded on Wednesday following three days of events at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. Many exhibitors, including Bohle | Portals, say the show this year was bustling as regional, national and international companies flocked to the annual glass, glazing and architectural metal showcase.

The event moved to Dallas for 2024, ushering in a new client base and halting the Las Vegas and Atlanta run.

“We’ve sold so many machines this week,” says Chip Olson of Quattrolifts. “Day one was overwhelming. I wish I had two or three more salespeople at the booth with me. But we managed.”

Olson compares the foot traffic to Atlanta, but not quite on the level of Las Vegas. For Bohle | Portals, GlassBuild provided an opportunity to highlight its new railing products, including the Vetromount system.

“Customers were interested in our new railing products,” says Marc Scerba of Bohle | Portals. “We’re new into the railing segment in the United States. “We’ve always done it in Germany, but we’re bringing it to the U.S. market.”

Scerba says the Vetromount system is an International Code Council-certified dry-glazed system.

“It’s one of the simplest systems out there to install,” he explains. “You drop the clamps in the base shield, temporarily tighten them up, level the system, lock it into place and you’re done. I’m not an installer, but even I can do this.”

Olson says that its Vector range of glass lifts was widely sought after. In fact, Quattrolifts sold all of its show models to local buyers.

“You have to be local to pick one of these up and take them home with you,” says Olson. “I like the fact that it was a different venue this year. It brings other people who might not have come to the show who can come here. Of course, we’re also seeing the normal people that we see too.”
